Dựa trên học thuyết của Thánh Augustine, Giáo hội Công giáo Rôma tin rằng tất cả con người sinh ra đều kế thừa Tội Nguyên Tổ (peccatum originale). Do Adam và Eva chọn làm trái lời Thiên Chúa, con cháu của họ, tức nhân loại, chịu hệ quả (reatus) là mất đi sự bất tử. Nhưng bên cạnh đó, nhân loại còn chịu cả phần tội khiên (culpa) của Adam. Từ đó, mọi đứa trẻ sinh ra đã mắc tội lỗi, bị vấy bẩn, mất Ân sủng của Chúa (charis), và có khuynh hướng tha hóa hướng về Dục vọng (concupiscence). Từ giây phút chào đời, hành trình tôn giáo của con người là sự Chuộc Tội và kiếm tìm sự Cứu rỗi (apolutrosis). Trong Chính thống Ki-tô giáo Đông Phương hay Do Thái Giáo, con người vẫn mất đi sự bất tử tại Vườn Địa đàng như hình phạt chung (reatus) cho hành động của Adam và Eva. Tuy nhiên, từng con người sau hai Nguyên Tổ được sinh ra vẫn là một bản thể hoàn hảo, thuần khiết của Chúa, không bị ảnh hưởng bởi tội khiên (culpa) của tổ tiên mình. Đặc biệt trong Do Thái Giáo, con người có cả khuynh hướng Thiện (yetzer hara) và Ác (yetzer hatov). Và vì vậy, hành trình tôn giáo của con người là hướng tới cái Thiện và tái hợp với Chúa (Teshuva - Do Thái Giáo) hay để gìn giữ và trở thành hình ảnh phản chiếu chân thực của Chúa (Theosis - Chính thống Đông Phương Giáo).

For the purpose of this debate, a machine exists which would allow would-be parents to select personality and behavioural traits for their children. These traits are confirmed and are ingrained in their children from childhood well into adulthood, but are not necessarily unchangeable later in life.

The "Kids Online Safety Act" or "KOSA" is an act that aims to enhance the protection of children online. Some measures associated with the act include: - Requiring social media platforms to provide their young users (age 16 years and below) options to protect their online information, disable features that would cause them addiction, and opt out of algorithmic recommendations (I.e. Prevent companies from using their data to recommend content to them, Prevent harmful content from being displayed in their feed, etc...) - Giving parents provision to support children under their care and identify harmful behaviour, such as allowing parents to have access to their children's messages - Creating accountability for social media platforms to act in preventing and mitigating content that could harm minors. Such content includes the promotion of unlawful products for minors (e.g. gambling and alcohol), self-harm, substance abuse, eating disorder, sexual exploitation, and suicide.

A technology exists that allows for terminally ill patients to impart their best living consciousness into an artificial intelligence before they pass away. The consciousness would then live in this AI and can interct with this person's loved ones. It will almost be as if this person has never left. Think JARVIS or FRIDAY (from Iron Man) but for dead people.
