In recent years, internet personalities like MrBeast have gained massive followings by funding attention-grabbing philanthropic acts - such as paying for surgeries, building homes, or providing food and clean water - often in the format of viral videos. These creators claim to be helping others while monetizing the content for further reach and revenue

Boycotts refer to choosing not to buy products or services from companies until they change their services (I.e. Increase the pay of workers, etc...). An example of this is in the Philippines, where people did not buy from Jollibee until they improve their workers' pay.

They can be required for domestic economic activities, such as attending bars or concerts, or considered for the purposes of international travel, such as allowing those with a vaccine passport to bypass quarantine.
