Trong suốt chiều dài lịch sử, Giáo hội Công giáo đã và đang coi đồng tính luyến ái như là một tội lỗi đi ngược lại lời răn dạy của Thiên Chúa. Lí giải cho điều này, theo Kinh thánh, sự tạo thành và khác biệt giữa người nam và người nữ là biểu tượng thiêng liêng của hôn nhân trong Đạo Công giáo, và mối quan hệ đồng tính luyến ai đang phá vỡ thể chế hôn nhân và gia đình hiện có. Chính vì thế, những người thuộc cộng đồng LGBTQIA+ hoặc có liên quan (như con của cặp đôi đồng tính) thường không được Giáo hội ban cho những bí tích (đặc ân) của Thiên Chúa. Rửa tội là bí tích khiến người nhận được xóa bỏ tội lỗi và trở thành con cái Thiên Chúa. Một phán quyết mới đây của Giáo hội đã cho phép rửa tội ở người đồng tính, chuyển giới và con của họ. Tuy nhiên phán quyết cũng chỉ ra rằng những người có mối quan hệ đồng giới vẫn đang phạm tội, và lễ rửa tội phải đi kèm với sự ăn năn về những tội lỗi đó. "

Ngày 21/7/2023, The 1975, ban nhạc pop rock nổi tiếng nước Anh, biểu diễn trên sân khấu sự kiện Good Vibes Festival ở Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Matty Healy (trưởng nhóm) đã thu hút sự chú ý bằng bài phát biểu dài bày tỏ sự ủng hộ đối với với cộng đồng LGBTQIA+ và chỉ trích chính sách bài trừ tự do xu hướng tính dục ở Malaysia. Theo luật pháp Malaysia, hoạt động đồng giới là bất hợp pháp, có thể bị phạt tối đa 20 năm tù cùng với phạt đánh bằng roi. Ngay sau đó, ban nhạc đã bị cấm trình diễn và sự kiện đáng ra kéo dài 3 ngày cũng lập tức bị hủy bỏ (nguồn: VTC News).

Sự mở rộng lớn nhất của Liên minh châu Âu, xét về số lượng quốc gia và dân số, diễn ra vào ngày 1 tháng 5 năm 2004. Có những quốc gia sau đã gia nhập: Síp, Cộng hòa Séc, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Litva, Malta, Ba Lan, Slovakia và Slovenia. Bảy trong số này là một phần của Khối Đông Âu trước đây.

Trong vài năm qua đã xảy ra kiện tụng xung quanh quyền của một doanh nghiệp tư nhân được từ chối dịch vụ dựa trên niềm tin tôn giáo của chủ sở hữu. Trong một trường hợp cụ thể, một tiệm bánh đã từ chối cung cấp bánh cưới cho một cặp đôi đồng tính nam.

Họ yêu nhau say đắm ngay từ lần gặp đầu tiên, và mỗi người đều coi đối phương là người đức hạnh và đẹp đẽ nhất trên thế giới. Do ngoại cảnh, họ không bao giờ gặp lại nhau và đoàn tụ trong suốt câu chuyện, tuy nhiên tình yêu của họ không bao giờ cạn kiệt.

Sân khấu đã gây ấn tượng mạnh với khán giả và đặc biệt là các nhà phê bình âm nhạc với hiệu ứng lửa và lồng sắt mô phỏng địa ngục, cũng như màn hóa thân thành quỷ Satan của Sam Smith. Tuy nhiên, đây cũng là vấn đề gây tranh cãi lớn tại Mỹ với các làn sóng phản ứng dữ dội, đặc biệt là từ các cộng đồng tôn giáo lớn.

(1) Epicureanism argued that pleasure was the chief good in life. Hence, Epicurus advocated living in such a way as to derive the greatest amount of pleasure possible during one’s lifetime, yet doing so moderately in order to avoid the suffering incurred by overindulgence in such pleasure. Emphasis was placed on pleasures of the mind rather than on physical pleasures. Unnecessary and, especially, artificially produced desires were to be suppressed. Since the political life could give rise to desires that could disturb virtue and one’s peace of mind, such as a lust for power or a desire for fame, participation in politics was discouraged. Further, Epicurus sought to eliminate the fear of the gods and of death, seeing those two fears as chief causes of strife in life. Epicurus actively recommended against passionate love, and believed it best to avoid marriage altogether. He viewed recreational sex as a natural, but not necessary desire that should be generally avoided. (2) Epicurus laid great emphasis on developing friendships as the basis of a satisfying life. While the pursuit of pleasure formed the focal point of the philosophy, this was largely directed to the “static pleasures” of minimizing pain, anxiety and suffering. ""When we say . . . that pleasure is the end and aim, we do not mean the pleasures of the prodigal or the pleasures of sensuality, as we are understood to do by some through ignorance, prejudice or wilful misrepresentation. By pleasure we mean the absence of pain in the body and of trouble in the soul. It is not by an unbroken succession of drinking bouts and of revelry, not by sexual lust, nor the enjoyment of fish and other delicacies of a luxurious table, which produce a pleasant life; it is sober reasoning, searching out the grounds of every choice and avoidance, and banishing those beliefs through which the greatest tumults take possession of the soul."""

(1) Phan Thanh Giản was one of the foremost mandarins of the Nguyễn court. He played a key role in negotiating the Treaty of Saigon with the French in 1862. The treaty had 12 clauses, the most important being : Art. 2- Đại Nam (the country’s name then) allows French and Spanish missionaries to preach and the Vietnamese to practice the Christian faith freely. Art. 3- Đại Nam cedes to France the three eastern provinces of Biên Hòa, Gia Định and Định Tường and the island of Poulo Condor (Côn Đảo). Art. 8- Đại Nam agrees to pay France 4 million dollars worth of silver over 10 years as war reparation. Art. 11- France will return Vĩnh Long Province to Đại Nam once the three eastern provinces have been pacified. (2) Phan Thanh Giản was later recalled to Huế to get instructions to conduct an extraordinary embassy to Paris and negotiate the return of the eastern provinces. In Paris, after intense discussions, French Minister of the Navy and the Colonies Prosper de Chasseloup-Laubat opposed the return of Cochinchina to Vietnam, and with the threat of resignation of the whole cabinet, forced Napoleon III to order the cancellation of the proposed agreement in June 1864. Thus the Saigon Treaty of 1862 remained in full effect. Because of his main role in the negotiations, Phan Thanh Giản was blamed by the Vietnamese people and the Huế Court.

The 'philosophy of water' comprises "H+H+O = H2O", which in detail means "Humility: water stays low in the river, yet it is a life-giving force; Harmony: water does not fight against its surroundings, it works with them to find a course; and Openness: water is open to change: gas, liquid, solid. It adapts and alters its form accordingly. The 'philosophy of fire' comprises opposite elements: Fierce, Insistent, Relentless, Exhaustive. It teaches one to develop a more rigid and firm sense of self that charges forward no matter what and burns all obstacles.

Trong bối cảnh chính quyền thành phố Gotham rất tha hóa, rất nhiều tội phạm lại một lần nữa được tự do và gây hại cho nhiều người của thành phố Gotham.
