Chiến lược "Buy American" được chính quyền Joe Biden áp dụng nhằm mục đích thúc đẩy sản xuất và đổi mới tình hình kinh tế nội địa của Hoa Kỳ, đồng thời tăng cường các quy định và thực thi thương mại. Một số ví dụ bao gồm: yêu cầu hàng hóa được mua bằng tiền đóng thuế phải được sản xuất chủ yếu ở Mỹ, cung cấp hàng tỷ đô la tiền thuế và tín dụng xuất khẩu cho các công ty sản xuất trong nước, cho phép chính phủ mua hàng hóa sản xuất trong nước với giá cao hơn hàng hóa tương đương sản xuất ở nước ngoài, v.v.

Ở mô hình Bắc Mỹ, thay vì hoạt động như một hiệp hội gồm các câu lạc bộ bóng đá có chủ sở hữu độc lập, các giải bóng đá là một tổ chức duy nhất trong đó mỗi đội bóng được sở hữu bởi các nhà đầu tư của giải. Giải đấu có một số lượng đội cố định, vẫn có đội vô địch nhưng không có đội thăng hạng và xuống hạng, trong đó các đội muốn tham gia giải đấu sẽ phải có nhà đầu tư đủ tiềm lực tham gia giải đấu. Ví dụ: Major League Soccer/ MLS (Mỹ), A-League (Úc), Canadian Premier League.

Hence, Epicurus advocated living in such a way as to derive the greatest amount of pleasure possible during one’s lifetime, yet doing so moderately in order to avoid the suffering incurred by overindulgence in such pleasure. While the pursuit of pleasure formed the focal point of the philosophy, this was largely directed to the “static pleasures” of minimizing pain, anxiety and suffering. Hanoi plans to ban motorbikes in core districts after 2025, five years earlier than an earlier plan, in order to reduce traffic congestion and emissions. The capital has around 5.6 million motorbikes and 600,000 automobiles. Currently, in Hanoi, the public bus system plies 140 routes, meeting an estimated 31 percent of total demand. The recently opened Cat Linh-Ha Dong metro service, along with the proposed Nhon-Hanoi Railway Station route, would each be able to meet 5-7 percent of travel demand in the city, according to an expert.

(1) Phan Thanh Giản was one of the foremost mandarins of the Nguyễn court. He played a key role in negotiating the Treaty of Saigon with the French in 1862. The treaty had 12 clauses, the most important being : Art. 2- Đại Nam (the country’s name then) allows French and Spanish missionaries to preach and the Vietnamese to practice the Christian faith freely. Art. 3- Đại Nam cedes to France the three eastern provinces of Biên Hòa, Gia Định and Định Tường and the island of Poulo Condor (Côn Đảo). Art. 8- Đại Nam agrees to pay France 4 million dollars worth of silver over 10 years as war reparation. Art. 11- France will return Vĩnh Long Province to Đại Nam once the three eastern provinces have been pacified. (2) Phan Thanh Giản was later recalled to Huế to get instructions to conduct an extraordinary embassy to Paris and negotiate the return of the eastern provinces. In Paris, after intense discussions, French Minister of the Navy and the Colonies Prosper de Chasseloup-Laubat opposed the return of Cochinchina to Vietnam, and with the threat of resignation of the whole cabinet, forced Napoleon III to order the cancellation of the proposed agreement in June 1864. Thus the Saigon Treaty of 1862 remained in full effect. Because of his main role in the negotiations, Phan Thanh Giản was blamed by the Vietnamese people and the Huế Court.

In recent times, some social justice advocates have noted that discussions of social justice issues, even in non-western countries, have become increasingly 'Americanized'. Examples of these include, but are not limited to: focusing on police brutality as examples of racism as a result of the Black Lives Matter movement, using English terms rather than words in local and Indigenous languages, focusing on Abortion activism in light of the challenges to Roe v. Wade, and the focus on American icons such as Martin Luther King Jr, Rosa Parks, and Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Thuế carbon nhập khẩu là một loại thuế môi trường đánh vào lượng carbon của nhiên liệu. Đây là một hình thức định giá carbon, có mặt trong mọi nhiên liệu hóa thạch (than, dầu mỏ, khí tự nhiên) và thải ra khí CO2 (cacbonic) khi được đốt cháy. Ví dụ: để tạo ra 1 hộp sữa cần 3 đơn vị carbon, một cái kẹo cần 2 đơn vị carbon, nên sẽ đánh thuế 3 đồng cho sữa và 2 đồng cho kẹo khi nhập khẩu.

"Trái phiếu tác động xã hội" là một mô hình tài trợ trong đó các chính phủ sắp xếp để các nhà đầu tư tư nhân tài trợ cho một nhà cung cấp dịch vụ để giải quyết một vấn đề xã hội cụ thể trong một khung thời gian được phân bổ trước do chính phủ xác định. Chính phủ chỉ hoàn trả cho nhà đầu tư nếu dự án 'thành công' như đã quy định trong hợp đồng ban đầu. Nếu thành công, chính phủ sẽ hoàn trả khoản đầu tư trả trước của nhà đầu tư cộng với một khoản phí bảo hiểm bổ sung.
