Fiat refers to the Proposition’s right to define and model a motion within reasonable constraints. Definitional fiat refers to the idea that the Proposition can define the terms in the motion, while modelling fiat refers to the idea that the Proposition can model the motion with specific details that help to explain why it is likely to be done well.
- UADC wording: a part of the Government model that cannot be challenged by Opposition and is necessary for the debate to exist.
