Stance
Chương 5. Case Building · Part B: Case Building
A stance refers to the general position that a team is taking in the debate. It articulates what they broadly support and what they do not support.
- Example: In “This House would nationalise the pharmaceutical industry”, Proposition’s stance includes the idea that governments are better actors to develop/distribute drugs. Opposition’s stance may be that private companies should develop drugs, but under strict government price caps. This is generally outlined within the set-up.
