Mitigation refers to arguments and rebuttal that does not defeat an opposing argument or show that it’s untrue, but instead demonstrates that the argument is less impactful than originally suggested.
- Example: If Proposition claims a tax will bankrupt corporations, Opposition mitigates it by proving corporations will survive but with slightly lower profit margins.
