The requirement in BP debating for each team and speaker to fulfill their specific strategic burdens (e.g., Opening Government must define the motion, Closing teams must provide an extension). Judges penalize teams for poor role fulfilment, though it does not result in an automatic loss if their arguments remain sufficiently persuasive.
